From a funder-centric to user-centric social sector

In a powerful new blog, NPC’s Tris Lumley argues that the social sector is incentivised to be accountable to funders, not its users, and that this must change.

He sees hope in three important trends that may challenge the status quo: the rise of the feedback movement; a stronger drive within the sector for collaboration; and opportunities offered by the developments in digital communication.

When all three trends come together, there is a real opportunity for change and to “put the primary constituent’s real lived experience at the heart of everything we develop”.
