The Alliance is an intergenerational group of organisers and campaigners from across the UK, hosted by the Civic Power Fund.
It funds and connects groups and networks who provide the tools, knowledge and support for youth organising to flourish. For example, those who provide training, mentorship, physical space, tech, research, campaign support, knowledge-sharing and who bring people together = the ‘infrastructure’.
Grounded in a commitment to racial, gender, disability and economic justice, youth organising is the process of engaging young people in building power for systemic change while supporting their individual and collective development. Proximity to the issues is key, so lived experience is essential. It is youth-led, but elders can play a role through sharing their knowledge, expertise, and networks. It is a powerful way of creating transformative, collective change.
As a co-founding funder of the initiative, Blagrave played a key role in the creation and set up of the initiative alongside fellow co-funder partners Paul Hamlyn Foundation and Esmée Fairbairn Foundation.
